The St. Clement Society of Christ The King Catholic Church, Okene, Kogi State on Sunday 23rd November 2025, marked the culmination of its annual feast‑day observance, coinciding with the Feast of Christ the King.
A statement from the Parish Media Unit made available to our correspondent, said the three‑day programme, which began with a fast and prayer on Friday, 21 November, continued with a sporting trek from the parish centre to Checkpoint‑Okene and back, and concluded with a thanksgiving Mass and evening fellowship.
According to the Parish Media Unit, the society’s chairman, Mr. Ihiezu Mark, who also serves as the Parish Harvest Committee Secretary, described the events as “a manifestation of our commitment to the corporal works of mercy and to strengthening the spiritual bond among members.”
Rev. Fr. Charles Omeiza Ajibogun, parish curate, and Cathechist Tom Ohikere were present at the Mass, offering reflections on service and unity. The evening gathering at Ikaraworo featured testimonies from members, discussions on future outreach initiatives, and a shared meal that underscored the spirit of fellowship.
A short gathering of the Noble Men of the society resolved to pay a courtesy visit to the parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Ezekiel John Mary Awolumate, to discuss pressing issues affecting some parishioners.
The programme highlighted the society’s dedication to uplifting parishioners, both locally and abroad, and reaffirmed its resolve to continue serving the community in accordance with Church teachings.
