
A 48-year-old unemployed man, Abiodun Oseni, was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing a woman’s bracelet worth N2.2 million.
Oseni, whose address was not provided is charged with theft.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The prosecutor, Insp Femi Oluwadare, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 4, at about 12.30 p.m, at New Garage area, Ibadan.
Oluwadare said the defendant stole the bracelet, belonging to Mrs Halimat Alli.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Maruff Mudashiru admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 17, for hearing.
